The program consists of rotating through three 30-minute activities. If you have more than 45 people, we need to add a fourth 30-minute activity.
Interactive museum program (led by museum staff)
Hands-on program – pounding acorns and pine nuts using traditional tools (led by museum staff)
Self-guided nature trail (led by chaperones using guidebook provided by museum)
If you have more than 45 people, we add a fourth activity: Native games and stories (led by chaperones using activity box provided by museum)
After the first two rotations, you will take a 20-minute recess during which the students can eat their lunch and run around. This will reenergize the students, so they will be able to concentrate during last rotation(s).
After you have completed all the rotations, you are welcome to stay in the picnic area if the students need to finish their lunches.
